A natural communicator and passionate writer, Melissa has had work published in international magazines, journals and online for over a decade. Two major studios and a successful start up, she has enjoyed a long career in the film industry and has written about the sector for most of her working life.
Currently she is a features writer at quarterly glossy Cinema Technology Magazine (UK) and European Correspondent at online journal Digital Cinema Report, based in New York.
Her specialist area is the film sector, where she is considered a well known thought leader and industry commentator, featured regularly across all the B2B trade press. She also frequently produces and moderates panels at industry events and conferences worldwide, and is experienced at news coverage, interviews and reportage.
Melissa set up a trade association in 2012 that became a global concern very quickly; she was responsible for all web copy, marketing strategy and execution as well as more general PR and is adept at assuming the corporate ‘tone’ and being the ‘voice’ of an organisation.
She is however extremely creative and has written blogs, erotic fiction, travel guides, film and music reviews, a ghost-written novel, screenplays and speeches.
On the drier side she is equally happy researching and writing data-heavy industry reports, feasibility studies and even appeared as an expert witness at a High Court trial in 2018 between Disney and a small distributor.
She was awarded 33rd Top Woman in Cinema in 2017 and ECA Outstanding Contribution to Event Cinema in 2016.
Melissa lives in London with her husband, two children and two cats.
